New office building for LeithsGroup
Active Office Interiors recently added another success to their list with the completion of a new office building for family firm, Leiths Group, which was officially opened by the First Minister, Alex Salmond.
The additional building has been built as an addition to their existing offices in Cove and the new modern design is a stark contrast to the traditional facia of their existing offices. After receiving a recommendation from a supplier, the company contacted the Aberdeen based, Active Office Interiors to complete the interior design and furniture for the project.
Leiths Group are a major supplier of construction materials throughout Scotland, operating quarries across the country. They have recently added a number of acquisitions to the group, necessitating additional office space at their headquarters in Aberdeen in order to facilitate the company's continued growth.
Sam Leith, Senior Accountant for Leith's was one of the team responsible for overseeing the project
"When we first started the build, Active was recommended to us by one of our suppliers. We approached them along with a number of their competitors but when the proposals came in, we felt that Active had brought more to the table than just a quote for furniture. They were very focused on getting the overall look right and we felt the design they presented us with helped to give a fresh face to the company and made the best use of the space. This cohesive approach to the finished article combined with the recommendation from one of our trusted suppliers was the main reason we decided that Active was the best option for us. As the project had been on-going throughout the decision making process, many fixtures and fittings had already been installed by the time they came on board, but they worked the design around this and we are very happy with the end result. On saying that, if we were to do the project again, we would have no hesitation in bringing them in to assist in with the earlier stages".
Active employed a wide range of services to ensure that the space was used effectively. This included; Space Planning and design, furniture, seating and storage throughout. A range of bespoke solutions such as storage walls in key office areas and a custom built mailroom facility were also installed and incorporated space saving solutions to house a range of equipment such as franking machines, scanners and printers as well as lay-down areas and pigeon holes for mail sorting and effective storage space for stationary
In the office area, the contemporary design had been completed in conjunction with the IT and Telecoms suppliers to ensure that the floor boxes containing the data and power modules were situated in order to link in with the placing of the desks and other furniture to ensure a seamless finish.
Commenting on the project, Alex Nicholson of Active Office Interiors said "The team at Active have enjoyed working with the Leith Family and their CEO, Simon, on what has proved to be a successful and enjoyable project for all concerned. Leith's are a leading light here in the north east and given the current economic climate, it is refreshing to see another local independent doing so well. We hope that their new office is reflective of their current and on-going success and look forward to the possibility of working with them again in the future".
